Frequently Asked Questions

Who is PCMC for?

PCMC is a day convention for anyone involved in teaching the Bible to children up to Year 6, whether that's in schools, churches, camps, the mission field, and parents; as part of a large team or as a solo worker.

I've never been before - what can I expect?

PCMC is a convention over 3/4 of the day (9am - 3pm). We'd love you to arrive a little bit before 9am so you can check in, grab a booklet and nametag, find the bathrooms and get a coffee in time to start at 9am. We start our day with a talk from the Bible, then our guest speaker takes us through the convention's topic. Sprinkled in amongst that is book reviews, interviews, testimonies, tips for teaching and any other good stuff we can bring you. There's a break for morning tea and another for lunch so you can chat and network with others and check out our bookstall. Depending on the year, we offer electives in our final session where you can choose what will be most helpful for you to learn about in your ministry context, and the day wraps up with a Q&A session.

What do I need to bring?

Your Bible, anything you need to take notes and yourself are all you really need, but we recommend bringing a water bottle and keep cup for tea or coffee.

Is there a creche or a program for children?

At this time PCMC cannot provide a creche or children's program. Mums with little bubs are very welcome and we will do our best to accommodate you, and older teenagers involved in teaching younger children are welcome to register and attend the convention.

Do I have to come on Friday night?

Our Co-Ordinator's Evening on the Friday night before the convention is aimed at the leaders of children's ministry teams or programs to help them think through what it looks like to set the heading for their ministry and network with others. If you lead a team or entire program in children's ministry then we'd love to see you at the Friday night. If that's not you, the Saturday convention has all the content you need.
